Mason Jars are SO in right now, and for a good reason. They’re amazing! There are a million ways to incorporate mason jars in your wedding, and it will save you a ton of money.

#1 – DON’T RENT GLASSES, BUY MASON JARS!

You can buy new or used mason jars for really cheap. Either is fine, which ever is least expensive. I know what you’re thinking – “What on earth am I going to do with 200 or so mason jars when my wedding is over?” Don’t worry, Mason Jars are in high demand right now, because not only are they adorable, but they have so many uses! You can easily sell your collection of jars when the wedding is over and keep a few for yourself. Here are a couple sites I found that allows you to order them online. The prices are great and you’ll easily make your money back when the festivities are over.

Have your guests use them for whatever drink you serve. You can put anything in them. (Even Wine!)

DO decorate your mason jars to coincide with the theme of your wedding.

If you have servers at your wedding, get creative. I love this idea! Serve your mason jars out of a dresser drawer.

You can put a jar at each place setting for your guests, or arrange them neatly on something near the entrance so your guests can get right to hydrating!

#2 – PERSONALIZE YOUR MASON JARS!

I love this idea. Paint chalk on the jars so your guests can write their names. This is great because that way the jars don’t get wasted, and then your guests have a favor you can take home with you.

If you want your guests to be able to personalize their jar, but still want to sell them after the wedding, here is a great alternative to chalkboard paint!

Glue some butcher paper onto the jar and leave a pen next to the glasses for guests to sign their name. You can even use tap if you want to make sure these are still re-sellable.

This is cute! If you have the time and artistic ability, you can customize your jars with you and your grooms initials. If you don’t want to do this for 200 glasses, maybe just do it for you guys. You have to separate your glasses from the guests some way. You can either paint the letters with glass paint, or if you want a more lasting impression, try glass etching. There are several tutorials online you can refer to.

#3 USE MASON JARS FOR TABLE DECOR

Well this is a no brainer. The possibilities are endless here. You can decorate a mason jar several ways to coincide with your theme and budget. Use mason jars as vases for your flowers. That is going to save you SO MUCH MONEY! Believe me. And it’s so adorable.

You can even dye your mason jars to coordinate with your color scheme. See what I mean? Endless possibilities!

#4 – USE MASON JARS FOR TABLE MARKERS

Paint table numbers right on the outside of the jar and fill it up with salt, sand, rocks, etc.

Fill the jars up with olive oil (or less expensive alternative) and stick a picture in it of you and your groom, or maybe old family pictures (Make sure they’re copies though, so the oil doesn’t ruin them). It gives the picture a really cool effect.

#5 – USE MASON JARS FOR LIGHTING

This is my favorite idea! For an evening wedding, line mason jars up along your aisle and put candles in them.

I’m always looking for new, creative ways to use mason jars, so if you have any please share!
